Tired of powerful engines and 18-speed transmissions feeling unnecessary with most vanilla loads?
Realistic Cargo Weight 2x doubles the original cargo mass values while preserving the balance between light and heavy cargo. It does NOT set every load to the same weight: a light cargo remains relatively light, while an already-heavy cargo becomes a serious hauling challenge.
World of Trucks Compatible
Tested and working with World of Trucks contracts in both configurations:

External Contracts – without your own trailerExternal Market – with your own trailer
100-tonne limit: Non-Special Transport loads are limited to a maximum of 100,000 kg for World of Trucks compatibility. In my ATS External Contracts test, the log stacker was accepted at 100,000 kg and rejected at 100,001 kg. Loads below the cap retain the original 2x mass values. Special Transport loads retain the full 2x weight, even above 100 tonnes, because they are not World of Trucks contracts. The same definitions also apply to offline jobs. Loads made up of whole units may finish below the cap.

Compatibility
Built and tested for American Truck Simulator 1.60.x and 1.61.x.
Mods that alter the same cargo mass or trailer definition files can override these values. If needed, place Realistic Cargo Weight 2x above other cargo-weight mods in the Mod Manager load order.
This mod changes cargo weight-related definitions. It does not intentionally rebalance prices, XP or the economy.
Note – 1.61 Official release:
Added support for the three new ATS 1.61 cargoes: Truss, Seed Containers and Trailers. These cargoes now receive the mod’s 2x weight adjustment.

Hear the seamless white noise of a reefer trailer!

This mod adds the definition files to activate the Sound Fixes Pack reefer sounds for reefer trailers by SCS Software.

There are some trade-offs due to reefer sounds not being a standard feature in the game yet. 
Nevertheless, a lot of limitations have been overcome to allow more freedom and less hassles. Read below for details:

Setup:

1. Enable this addon and the Sound Fixes Pack. Make sure the Sound Fixes Pack has high priority in the Mod Manager.
2. Other road / trailer tire sound mods must be disabled.

Please note:

The refrigerated trailer will beep and its engine will startup after coupling the trailer.
The reefer will continue to run as you drive and you can hear the hum of it from the truck interior. 
The mod relies on the trailer tire sound to carry the reefer sound.
The sound event will stop after decoupling the trailer.

See compatibility section for what modes the functionality will work.

For any owned reefer trailer, there is a workaround built in to the Sound Fixes Pack to enable the reefer sound.
The reefer startup sound effect is not supported with the workaround option.

Some roads may not be supporting trailer tire sounds, hence why the reefer sound might not work there. 

If this happens, driving offroad into the grass or gravel usually gets the reefer sound loop working again successfully.  

Workaround for any trailer including owned reefer trailers:

1. Go into the Audio settings.
2. In the voice navigation menu, select “~ Function – Force enable reefer sound”.
3. Click the Preview button.
4. Select a different voice navigation option OR uncheck the voice navigation.
5. If you want to turn off the reefer sound, detaching the trailer will work in most cases. Otherwise restart the game.

Fully supported trailers:

– Base game reefer trailers

Compatibility:

✅ Freight Market: Confirmed to work
✅ External Contracts: Confirmed to work.
✅ Quick Jobs: Can work, but you need to disconnect and reconnect the trailer to start the cycle.
– Ownable Trailers: Requires the workaround, but does not include the beep and startup sound effect.

Sound Fixes Pack is required for the functionality.

Sound volume configuration:

1. The Trailer Noise slider controls the sound volume of the reefer startup noise and the reefer sound loop.

This mod is primarily intended for RP players. It solves the problem of unrealistic police behavior regarding speeding as much as possible within the game’s logic, making the police more tolerant of the player. The chance of receiving a speeding fine becomes 10% (approximately the average rate of speeding enforcement), since in the USA police often prefer not to pay attention to minor violations.

I recommend using my realistic traffic behavior mod( https://atsmods.lt/realistic-ai-drivers-behavior-10mph-ats-1-60/ ) to understand the reasons behind this and to see a more logical picture of what is happening.

The mod also introduces realistic fines and a progression of speeding fine costs. Fines do not depend on your in-game level. The fine for a car crash is set to a symbolic 10 dollars. In most cases, AI drivers are at fault in accidents, and the player already suffers from truck damage. Also, the game has insurance.

P.S. The higher the speed, the higher the chance of a fine, but unfortunately, within the game’s limitations, this does not always work. The mod’s behavior is not fully tested. Please share how the mod works for you in the comments.
