[Official] Air Ride A Series 1.0 By Momo

CONCEPT

Normally I am not a truck driver, but recently i got a chance to test drive a Volvo FH truck in real life. I found that the driver seat always moved up and down while the truck was on the move regardless of the road conditions.

Because the seat carries the driver’s weight while trying to absorb the vibration as much as possible, so that’s why the seat always moves up and down.

In the contrary, ETS2 does not simulate the driver’s weight, so the driver in ETS2 has no weight and that’s why the seat rarely or barely moves in the game.

This mod is an attempt to simulate real life driver seat movement as close as possible by making the seat in the game more sensitive so that it moves up and down when it should. But there is no way to implement the driver weight, so it’s unable to be 100% accurate. But it should feel a lot more realistic now than the vanilla.

FEATURE

1. This mod replaces your seat with an air ride seat. It moves up & down when it should and properly, not too excessive.

2. Feel the softness of your air suspension seat.

3. This seat is not the same as what included in my Physics mods. This is a different seat. Place this mod higher than my physics mods.

4. As a little side effect, when you first enter the truck (the game drops your truck from the sky) your air seat will move up and down a little while (10 secs) because of the drop. This is normal. It will stop when the vibration has gone.

You have to enable “Camera Physics” and max the bar. Find it in the game option. The effect of this mod is very obvious and very different than the vanilla. You cannot miss it if you get it right.

I will certainly not slide the camera’s bar to the max. Are you nuts? I have it on maybe 10% for slight movement, more than that is already too much on curvy motorways, it would shake like a lunatic when I pulled on my steering wheel. Let alone to set it at max. When this seat thing is not working without, so be it, than the mod is useless. There’re physic mods out there which cause cam effects as well, intentionally or not, which is why it’s impossible to max the cam movement out. PLus, I’m a truck driver with 1.5 million km experience and the seat I’m sitting on is only moving when there’s movement of the chassis. And the chassis is only moving when there’s uneven surface more than the chassis suspension can absorb. Dunno where you were “testing” a Volvo truck – but it wasn’t here in Europe. Maybe in Kasachstan, who knows. A constantly moving air suspension seat would be thrown out of the cabin, surefire. The seat has to be as solid and stiff as every normal seat compensating for your weight. It becomes as softer as harder as it gets hit, so no hit from below, no movement. The seat has also inertia, it’s not that constantly moving, gosh! You’re talking nonsense, so that I came to the conclusion, you’ve never tested it. It’s just a story made up to promote your mod.
